Introduction
------------
The disk provided with this application note contains IMPORT.EXE, a
replacement for the IMPORT.EXE file that is included with Microsoft
Mail for PC Networks version 3.0. The replacement file adds the
ability to import gateway FFAPI-type addresses and includes some minor
changes in the way gateway names are included in the directory-
synchronization process.
To Update Your IMPORT.EXE File
------------------------------
1. Insert the enclosed WA0643 disk in your floppy disk drive.
2. At the MS-DOS command prompt, type the following and press ENTER
copy <drive>:\import.exe <destination>
where <drive> is the floppy disk drive containing the WA0643 disk
and <destination> is the drive and directory where your IMPORT.EXE
file currently resides. For example, if IMPORT.EXE is located in
the MAILEXE directory on drive C and the WA0643 disk is in drive A,
type the following command:
copy a:\import.exe c:\mailexe
A message will be displayed stating: "1 file(s) copied" (without
the quotation marks). This indicates that your IMPORT.EXE file has
been successfully replaced.
NOTE: IMPORT.EXE typically resides on the postoffice server in the
Mail executables directory as well as on the machine importing
addresses into the database. Make sure you update all copies of
IMPORT.EXE.
